  1. Fern. So beautiful and intricate at every stage of its development. I especially love the lighting in that first capture and all the curls and swirls of those unfolding spirals! So delicately captured!

  3. So true - fern floors of the forests are so lovely. Great pics. Any signs of fall out west? My favorite season - doesn't come until November here though.

  4. Oh, how I love the ferns. Even my spouse "mows" around the ones that have made their home in the mossy patches of our backyard.

    They are, indeed, wonderful characters!

  14. Lovely photos, Tammie! Ferns seem almost magical to me, and your photos definitely capture that. I especially like the ones where they haven't completely unfurled- the shapes look like some kind of secret elvish calligraphy!

  18. Such loveliness, Tammie - and so many spirals. There is a book by Dr Manjir Samanta Laughton ('Punk Science') in which she suggests that 'black holes' are all around us, and that this spiralling into existence that we see in plants is part of the black hole phenomenon.
