Bounty of Gold

in unexpected places
golden gems surprise us
and give rise
to the beauty
that lies deep within us
often found in our stillness
a bounty of gold
~

I have yet to capture the beauty of snowflakes
in a way that honors them.
Still these little piles of preciousness
charm me!
~
In honor of Valentine's Day,
may the spirit of love dance in your life.

  1. Few people are able to see these gems and to bring them back for all to enjoy. Thanks for being the mother snowflake that honors and respects her winter home.

  2. Your "piles of preciousness" with their crystal blue tinge are hidden treasures - only by observing closely and carefully do we strike gold. Happy Day to you Tammie!

  14. There are rarely sights, which do leave me speechless, these photographies are.
In my opinion, worth to be included into the book:
Snow Crystals, by W.A. Bentley & W.J. Humphreys.

A deep bow in respect of these photographies, together with the wish to have a nice start into the new week as well.

  31. Hi, my dear friend Tammie Lee:

it would be an honour if you let us include your photographic art in our Moon Museum. We consider you a part of it. We're from Spain mostly, but there're painters and photographers from a lot of countries already. We defend peace, ecology and good values. With some sense of humour now, using that weird Queen of hearts, but anyway, it is still a place for peace and good feelings through art, so you're perfect for us.

We're incredibly astonished after looking at your wonders. We admire you a lot and we have include your BEAUTIFUL blog in our list of Artists. It's a great luck being here and enjoying nature through these wonderful pics.

    CONGRATULATIONS. WE LOVE YOU.

  40. Wonderful, Tammie. Question, does gold have its value because of its beauty or because it is rare?
    ..

  41. Hi Jim,
Good question. I imagine there are as many answers to it as there are people. Gold as in sunlight is extremely valuable, we need it to live. As a poet I was using it in a lyrical way. Thank you for stopping by.

  42. so much like a designer dress!

  46. Well these look pretty wonderful to me, Tammie. I was looking at a book about snowflakes last week. It's here if you'd like to see it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Art-Snowflake-Photographic-Gallery/dp/0760329974/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266605408&sr=1-2

As you know, we don't get ice forming the way you do and I have never seen anything like this in real life. In fact, until seeing yours I thought the book contained highly magnified photos of individual crystals. Now, from your photos, they look like crystal formations, as in your previous post...?

    They're beautiful, anyway!
    Janice.
