Wild Orchids of Italia

Italian wildflowers for a change
extreme beauty just the same
mia sorella heard the fairies call
she looked and spied wee orchids tall
gracefully standing
amongst forest grass
uplifting spirits as we passed

  1. How beautiful, they look like little alien people, or flopsy eared bunnies if you look from an angle.

  7. It's amazing how orchids seem to send out naturally exotic and mysterious vibes... I visited a garden full of orchids once, and it was heaven. My favorite would be the Moon Orchid, no doubt.

These pictures are mesmerizing, Tammie. oxx

I never had any luck growing these but you seem to have lots of it. Nice shots too.

I am trying to get some favorite family recipes from my favorite bloggers. I even started a new blog—Fat Lady Recipes—to hold them. I have received some submissions with more promised. A photo of your dish is nice but not required. A photo of yourself is required as well as your real name. Sometimes I can use your profile photo if it is not an icon.

The Fat Lady Recipes blog should be getting some magazine coverage soon but I am not at liberty to talk about just yet.

You don't have to be fat to share recipes.

Are you in Italy? We are in London visiting our daughter and family.

In 2006 we spent a lovely week in Tuscany; one night in Levanto which is the doorway to the Cinque Terre and five nights in Bettolle which is southeast of Siena and Florence.

  36. Dear Tammie, x
It is great to see that you have been inspired by the nature of Italy. These orchids are incredible. The wonderful green background makes the flowers look really vibrant and alive. I think the second flower is called a Bee orchid. My sister introduced me to them around my birthday. They flower in late June to July and can also be found in the fields of England!
I hope you had a lovely holiday and you have many more photos to show us of your travels!:-)
    Blessings and love,
    Jo.x
