Spring Walk, Today

walking through the woods
my first wildflowers of the year
so tiny, i almost missed them

tiny fungi, big color
(ascomycetes, perhaps)

the top of a young pine tree
(if you were wondering)

last nights raindrops adorn moss

first and only violet that i saw
i did not eat this one

so tiny, i nearly did not see this family of five
(perhaps a Mycena)

buds
illumined in sunlight

~
Spring is beginning to burst
still a subtle thing
but if you look real closely
it is bursting

  5. These macros are wonderful, Tammie! They're a glimpse at a tiny world of fruition. The top of pine is my very favorite. I'm in AZ - it's also springtime in the desert!

  7. Spring is over here, the seasons are not sharply defined in the Middle east, they just flow into each other.

I loved your photos again, love them still. I will try to use the "big" color in a painting today, it can never come out as perfect as nature is painting it, but, oh well, I'll try... :-)
Greetings Tammie, go on looking for spring wonders every day now!

  10. Having just looked at all your posts back to December I can see how amazing it must be to greet Spring in your part of the world.
Your snow and ice photographs capture such a beautiful world. To find butterflies, buds and flowers with such bright colours and the contrast of white snow covered world must fill you with such wonder.
Our worlds are so different, it is always so lovely to see beauty through your eyes. Happy spring to you too. X

  14. When I first read the title of your post, I misread it as "Spirit Walk , Today", but I am sure it was one for you! What fabulous colours and mysteries are there if we just look!

My students and I call the orange fungi, gnome eggs. We were horrified to return to the spot last fall only to discover someone had crushed them. My one student gave another heck for wrecking nature and asked, "Why do you hate nature so much?"

Thank you for taking me on your spring spirit walk!
