Great Gray Owl

the light of the setting sun
beckoned

then presented
the glorious great gray

who was hunting

and silently swooped to the earth

capturing dinner
flew to another area

to hunt some more

how wonderful
the owl let me photograph it
take to heart it's artful ways
of
being
an owl
in the setting suns light

    1. yes, such an opportunity! the owl was in hunting mode and landing on low sticks and posts. it seemed to not mind me following along. I was amazed to see it capture it's dinner and swallow it whole!

  22. Oh wow! Gorgeous photos! I'm impressed by your photos and the owl! I love owls, but seldom get to see one. Guess I should go to where it is and not opposite - haha! But I lately bought some stencils of owls that I'm trying out.. :)
I love the one where the owl is showing up the eyes and hiding the rest of its body!! Charming! :)
