under the cover of shade
and light

a red leaf 


under cover
protection of branches
a mushroom dries
changing form and chemical
to become just right food
for:


the squirrel
sits
under cover of golden Tamarack needles and branches
nearly hidden in shade

eating a dry mushroom


under cover
of the thick forest
a rosy mushroom thrives
bathed in soft evening light


under the cover of clouds
light gently caresses
Autumn

  16. I love popping in to your "other" blog Tammie. Lovely photographs of the most lovely place. We've got a few squirrels here in the garden and they love climbing our neighbour's enormous bronze beech and eating the seeds. Then they chuck the seed pods down a my cats and laugh and scamper away. :D

  29. What peaceful and beautiful photos! We see the mushroom cycle here too. During a windy day, the mushrooms that the squirrels have placed in the tree boughs to dry rain down on us!
