Happy Equinox to You

as we cross the threshold of a new season
we have glimpses of summer and autumn both

change and mysteries tend to be tangible at this time

the spots on fawns
are fading

I found a moth's cocoon
will it survive being buried under snow all winter

a mix of leaves cuddle on the pond

sunsets
after rain
offer their own special drama

here and there
a mushroom can be found

Happy New Season to you!

  2. It's that deer peering right at you that really stands out to me. The first one, where it's on its own.

  3. These photos are just spectacular, Tammie. Hard to pick a favorite, but if I must...I love the first of the moth on the leaf. Happy fall Equinox to you! Hope you don't soon get buried under snow!

    1. Thank you Barb. I took the moth photo yesterday, on the Equinox. The moth is still there, but facing the other direction. I though it was striking on the fern.

  4. This time of the year is very curious, now comes the "veranillo de San Miguel", as we say here in Spain.
    Have a good one, Tammie.

    1. Yes, often we have Indian summer here as well. This year however it is too cold to call it that. We even have snow in the mountains, which is great for all the wildfires.

    1. Yes maybe Terry. Colors are changing. I hope we get an Indian summer, but it is not looking like we will.
I like the fern and moth too.

  9. Happy Equinox Tammie Lee! :)))
My favourite image, as always, is the deer...this is my totem so I relate to her very well. :)
A new season is here, but I have to say, at 36C (97F), I think summer is still trying her best to hold on!!

My favorite is the first photo. The moth and the green leaves, they were captured with your sensitive eyes.

  12. I love the seasons intermingle and journey side by side as the transition takes place. It's the same here as balmy days remind us of summer and cool mornings and evenings tell us that autumn is really here. All lovely images of this lovely time of the year! I love the cuddling leaves in the pond!

    1. Often our seasons intermingle more than this year. We went from 90F days to 50F days before summer was even over. It seems like colors are happening fast as well, but maybe that always happens. We are hoping for some warmer autumn weather before winter arrives. So funny to think ahead to winter when Autumn has just begun, but cold days have a way of doing that.

Thank you for your kind message. The leaves are so pretty, floating and cuddling. Thank you.

  13. Ah my favorite time of the year. I find my self missing Alaska and Montana the most at moments like this. Adjusting to being back in the South with autumn feeling such a long time coming still, it's teaching me patience.

    1. Hi Amanda,
Nice of you to drop by. Autumn most certainly has begun. Even a week before summer ended it was here with 50F days. True seasons are so different from subtle seasons.

  14. Wow, the moth's cocoon is interesting. I've never seen one before. It looks like Fall is slowing coming to your neck of the woods. Those fawns are sweet. What a sight they must be! And those mushrooms get huge!

Wishing you wonderful Autumn days, Tammie Lee.

    1. Hi Sherry,

Maybe you think the mushroom is huge because some plantain gets huge, the ones in my lawn are only 1-1.5 inches long. So not so large a mushroom. Just up close and personal.
Thank you so much for your message. I look forward to stopping by and seeing what you are sharing soon.

  15. Dear Tammie - I like all the photos in this post, especially the turning-back deer, moth’s cocoon, a mix of leaves, but my favorite is the first one which is so artistic. Happy New Season to you, too!
