First Snow

such a lovely surprise to wake
to
the first snow

to slip on boots
and
head out to be part of the snow clad morning

it is all melted now
but
I am left with a reminder to get autumn chores completed
before winter arrives

    1. IT seems early, but we often get a snow around now. It does not stay.... thank goodness, not quite ready in a number of ways.

  5. I love that you still have some fall color, too! Yes, that first snow a couple weeks ago here in Breck had us scrambling! This week and next sunshine here - I like it!

    1. Yes, scrambling can happen. Still have more to do, but looks like some decent weather is coming in a couple of days.

  9. Your house looks beautiful, and even more special in the snow. It reminds me of my father's house that we inherited last year. We hope to be moving there in about a year's time.

  10. It's beautiful Tammie Lee...this is just around the corner for us too. I really do love where you live, love your home. Actually Alex and I high-tailed it in the yard and garden today to prep for winter because we're already having a lot of frosty nights. We left it later than we wanted this year, but got it all done! All five dogs watching us the whole time lol! Things really are getting easier with them day by day thankfully! And not a peep from their owner for the last week, sigh...our gain, his loss right?

Fun that you got out and got your chores done. Such a good feeling.
I am glad that you all are adjusting to your larger family.
Sounds like their owner has moved on.

    1. Yes, it is cold out. Sometimes we get an indian summer with warmer days, but not so much this autumn.

  17. Dear Tammie - First snow is so exciting to us regardless of our age. Your place is a wonderland with the dusting of snow. The gold yellow adds special ambience different from the monochrome-like winter snow-scape.

  18. You had your first snow already, how wonderful. Love this picture of the bridge and the Autumn tree in the distance, Tammie Lee. You live in such a beautiful area, and it is a dream of mine to live in the mountains someday, or at least have a place to retreat there. : )

    1. Hi Sheri,

Yes it arrived and melted away, two days in a row.
We are back to greenish grass and autumn colors with beautiful light and long shadows. Not quite ready for winter.
It is very beautiful here and living in this wee cabin is a dream come true. Perhaps your dream will come true some day as well.
