Hey! I don't like a mouse near my food!
(this, tiniest mouse I ever saw.... was nearly under my foot. Thank goodness I saw it)

then the mountain chickadees joined in

I have these wee birds following me around the forest for food
I would have never guessed this could happen

  1. Fantastic! The picture with the Nuthatch and Mouse was a surprise!! We have Nuthatches here in Scotland, but they are a little different from your one.

    1. Yes, it was a surprise for the birds too. They tangibly did not like it there. We have a few different nuthatches too. They seem to be the dominant birds that are taking seed from my hand, the chickadees make way for them. So interesting to witness.

  5. That first bird is so adorable. I never know the names of birds but I've always enjoyed seeing them. These are wonderful shots.

    1. Hi Lissa,

It has taken me so long to know one bird from another and their names and sounds. Feeding them from my hand has taught me even more about them. So much fun.
They use to all look the same to me (kind of).

Lovely day and beyond to you!

  7. You are an animal and a bird whisperer. I think they sense your gentle soul and are unafraid of you.

    1. It really is fun interacting with them daily. It has upped my knowledge about them. They all have personalities and some are certainly respected, or allowed to have seed first. There is one with only two tail feathers, I wonder what happened to it? It lands on my head and shoulders, anywhere. Others not so much.

  8. PS Did you use your camera or phone for these shots, Tammie? Spectacular!

    1. I don’t have a smart phone. I bought a new camera. Not sure if I am keeping it yet. Though it has done a good job of these bird photos. It came on the market in 2014, so not a new model (but a new camera)
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 I still have lots to learn about using this camera, some photos i am not happy with. Such as macros, though it might be me.

      Thank you for enjoying.

  12. Oh my gosh, I was loving these photos of the sweet little bird eating sunflower seeds right from your hand, until I saw the mouse, Eeeeeek! You know, I have a dreadful fear of mice, even small ones like this. That sunset is one of the prettiest I've ever seen, Tammie Lee.

    Wishing you sweet September days.

Such sweet photos, and that is a wee mouse, feels like he fell out of a book. The purple sunset is gorgeous. Thanks, Tammie :)
