Ghost Plant, Indian Pipe

ghosts of the forest

an intimate glimpse or two:

rare to see their insides as they are often facing down:

lovely petals of soft light:

translucent beings that rise from the forest floor:

in relationship with the wonderful trees

more than with the sun

  2. What amazing and unusual plants. In the first photo. they really do look like pipes! My favourite images are the first one, the third (with those colourful and intricate centres)and the fifth one showing off the beautiful translucency.

    1. They are unusual, even their relationship with the world is different from most plants.
Thank you for sharing the photos you like, it is fun to look at them anew.

Elles me tiennent tant à coeur.

  8. What an amazing plant. I have never seen anything like them. The closest we have here in Scotland is Toothwort, Lathraea squamaria, which is a parasitic plant.
