Brief Morning Light

sun rarely graces us with its presence
daylight begins with
sugar-like snow falling from the sky
turning to flakes like feathers floating to the earth
transforming to snow like confetti
filling the air
snowflakes fly by
as fast as birds
dancing in all directions
spring is here and snow piles on each and every limb
the ongoing kiss of winters farewell

  4. Oh, my dear--what a LOVELY photo. This just fills my eyes--which, as you know is the greatest compliment I can give.

I wish it would snow here--but rather spring has sprung. The fruit trees have flung their gorgeous blossoms across the skies, and flowers are popping up everywhere!

  10. Your winter still lingers on but that display is worth it surely. A captivating scene.
How you write about snow is so poetic. Only one living with it for long periods could come up with such wonderful prose about snow.

  12. But isn't the sun in the clouds and in the snow and in the tears of happiness and joy of the observer. I have to remember that the sun is in the hearts and essence of all in Nature. We must be the sunshine, and our brightness reflects off of all that we consciously see and touch.
