Summer Storm

she arrived dancing wildly on the roof
torrential cleansing of the nooks and crannies
she even washed away the summer heat
and when she left
the world no longer thirsted for her presence
for now she runs through their veins
and they adorn their bodies
with her gem like beauty

  11. Makes me want to be 1 mm. tall and be there. Very Lovely words, too.

On water; many think of the earth as our mother - I guess that makes the sea our grandmother . . .

  35. ...beautiful writing--you totally captured it. Reading it made me feel that rush of excitement as dark clouds start piling up in the sky and that peculiar energy starts spilling in with the winds.....then the rain comes and you can almost feel the earth sigh with relief. We love to sit on the front porch and watch the storms roll in--right now, we are parched and have had intense heat and humidity. We are waiting for that storm... (Loved the photo as well....the raindrops are so refreshing and happy.)
