  10. Most people, in their lifetimes, will never see a bear in the wild. How blessed you are to not only see one, but to be able to take his portrait ... and live to tell about it! :=}

    but maybe it doesn't.

  15. Tammie, my boys are in awe! So this is the bear they wished to emerge from the trees! They love that he eats flowers and I think they think he is magical because ...ta da...their imaginings came true..and there the beautiful bear is. I think we will have some stories flowing about the flower bear. Thank you for your magic!
    Best wishes

  22. Hi Tammie, x
    I think this is the cutest black bear I have ever seen. He looks quite young. Were these photos taken in a park especially for bears or is he in the wild?
    He looks very handsome with his shiny coat.
    Lovely to see you again. I hope you are well.:)

  24. Oh, Yes! I do so recall this mighty and beautiful beast. Black bears were a part of my daily life ... at times a bit too close for comfort. Mothers and cubs mostly ... for they hibernated not far from the house. I love them and enjoy seeing them far out in the woodland not next to my house or trying to get in! I never feed the birds seeds anymore. Great portraits Tammie!

  25. Oooh! Bears, I love them. Do ever feel when you look at someone that you see an animal, almost like an aura... Mostly when I see an animal in a person, it is bear, cat or bird of prey. Occaisionally a mouse or dog, but mostly bears.

  31. Hello Friends,

    there have been some questions in the comments about this big gorgeous flower eating bear.

    We found it on a hillside along the road near Two Medicine Montana. Two Med. is in Glacier N. Park. The bear was grazing back and forth along the hillside on greens and flowers, lots of glacier lilies. As we sat in our car the bear ignored us. How far were we? hum, distance is not my gift, maybe 30 yards? I shoot with a Nikon, 18-200mm lens, this is not the best for wildlife, plus my car was running, so the vibration did not help clear for clear images.

    Also we could not help thinking that someone had just brushed the bears coat! So shiny and thick! I was tired after a long day and little sleep at this point in our journey. After seeing the bear I was sweetly energized and my spirit alive. So much fun!

    Thank you all for your visits and wonderful comments!

    Tammie

  38. I always dream about bears. Here, we see black bears all the time, as they wander into the city looking for garbage. On a side note, did you know that Winnie the Pooh was named after a black bear that was at a zoo here in Canada?
