Beargrass

how many flowers on one stalk
enough to make my heart sing

blossoms open
from bottom to top

in multitudes
they light up the woods

~
beargrass, not actually a grass but is in the lily family,
tends to bloom once every 5-7 years
so when it blooms
we love it!

  10. What a wonderful plant Tammie. It's something I've never come across before. I've just been looking through images of them in the Glacier National Park, is this where you've photographed them ?
What a lovely hike that would be.

  12. The wonders of nature! It is worth being alive to see it lighting up the fires. Our alpine eucalyptus, Eucalyptus pauciflora, only flowers every seven years. Plants are amazing.

Your photos are very nice, Tammie! Beargrass is starting to bloom around here too, but they seem to be very sparse this year.

  22. A lovely set of flowershots, and I used some extra time watching the third shot, the atmosphere of the deep forest is coming through and the nice tones of green makes this one my favourite!
