Enormous School of Tiny Fish

billions of tiny fish

along the shore:

not sure what kind they are

sometimes
they moved as though they were one entity

tiny beings amongst the pretty rocks

and
there was a chipmunk

  16. Lovely pics. Your stones always amaze me. I asked Frank.. the fish whisperer with whom I live and he believes your fish are dace.. a kind of minnow.

  19. I am drawn to these beautiful rocks - and how clear your water is. So beautiful. I feel the urge to dip my toe into the water, but it might be very cold...

  25. Beautiful pictures Tammie. Like everyone else I find the chipmunk enchanting.
Your fish could be young bull trout, dace or even redside shiner minnows. Montana is certainly a great fishing state.

  28. ....that chippy is so cute...and so are the tiny fish. Maybe it's because I'm a Pisces, but I love seeing schools of those tiny fish! :-) Happy Autumn!

  29. I love the tiny fish against the colorful rocks. This summer, I saw some tadpoles that were in midst of metamorphosis in the shallow part of a lake. I tried to photograph them but it's not easy focusing through the water. I had no idea what an art/skill that process is!

I have a much greater appreciation for these photos based on my experience.

    And I love the chipmunk!
