Winters dream becomes Spring
warmer days arrive
Spring, an avatar
calls my name
in the song of birds
on the current of a warm breeze
as the muskrat swims
across the pond, freshly risen from its den
an avatar of new life
calls my spirit to rise from hibernation
weans me away from winter
stretch and yawn
a languid stroll
earth soft under my feet
breathe
awaken
let my spirit enliven
your spirit
with light and shadows
warmth and color
slowly we will prepare
the feast of summer
warmer days arrive
Spring, an avatar
calls my name
in the song of birds
on the current of a warm breeze
as the muskrat swims
across the pond, freshly risen from its den
an avatar of new life
calls my spirit to rise from hibernation
weans me away from winter
stretch and yawn
a languid stroll
earth soft under my feet
breathe
awaken
let my spirit enliven
your spirit
with light and shadows
warmth and color
slowly we will prepare
the feast of summer

Oh this is wonderful! Spring is a wonderful avatar...and it feels good to wake up from the winters nap.
ReplyDeleteAnother amazing scenes and words.
ReplyDeleteHappy spring and Easter.
The ripples of the water is beautiful and stirring = just like spring. So uplifting!
ReplyDeleteLove the stone and snow shot, it has to be said that the Muskrat is great too.
ReplyDeleteare you really living in such an amazing enviroment...with beavers(or what is a muskrat?)around?? Ilike the Photo with the snow smelting around the stones...remember this feeling...spring is in the air!
ReplyDeleteThat muskrat looks like a giant rat. Yuk! I don't like rats. In fact my phobia started when I was a young kid, and itt flood every year. The rats and mice would be sitting in rows in my mum's veg garden. I linked the plague with rats. 40 years on, I still am scared of them
ReplyDeleteThe nature awakens and the light returns. Wonderful picture! I wish you Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteIsabella
Heartwarming words, and I love the pics.
ReplyDeleteWe too have the animals awakening. And the snow has made way for blossoms! Happy melt to you!!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful once again see the animals and flowers Tammie.
ReplyDeleteSpring as avatar..all nature is spirit, we are spirit. I love the give and take you capture here in a beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the furry dude just doing his thing. These guys swim with such clear purpose and so neatly. They are harmony itself.
Wonderful captures.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stones in the snow! They speak so eloquently of spring.
ReplyDeleteSpring does prod us to get moving, doesn't it? Sometimes I'm more amenable to that prod, and sometimes I feel like resisting it. Glad you were moving around that day you found the muskrat, though -- great catch! Likewise the warming rocks with the receding snow. Wonderful pictures!
ReplyDelete~such movement and stirring happening for you...may the warmth come and shed his light upon you...prepare a feast of summer...sound so inviting! may i come too...l♥vely moments as always you have captured...much l♥ve and light and brightest blessings~

Spring, an avatar of new hope and sensitivity. Great image. Also I like the rocks heating up first melting the snow around them.
ReplyDeleteThe muskrat is an amazing animal. It lives comfortably on the edges of two worlds - water and land - finding sustenance and shelter in each, as situations require. It would be a wonderful totem, with strong medicine.
ReplyDeleteTammie Lee I for one have become a fan of your poetry...so profound are your words..you are one with your subject..that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you dear lady!
Spring, beautiful spring! These are lovely photos of winter's demise.

ReplyDeleteDear Ms. Bella,
ReplyDeleteTis a muskrat, a critter that lives in water and travels on land. My neighbor that I enjoy watching, very much.
Well, I am late in responding this week due to a motorcycle trip! I like your photo very much. Spring is, indeed, a time of renewal. As in the avatar, a chance for renewal and rebirth, as in the seasons. Well written.
