In One

Fluffy piles of snowflakes blanket the earth
known as champagne fluff
snowshoes sink deep
wandering a familiar route
my endless yard called wilderness
I realize I am rarely driven to leave home
in one meadow
a world of life thrives
in a quiet winter way

In one word
In one meadow
In one lover
the entire universe can be experienced
this is my sense
Is there anywhere else to go

  1. I love how much you have such utter appreciation for your beautiful world...and I can honestly say that I would find much need to venture away from where you are either...:)

    Love and light...

  2. Lovely poem. I like the phrase 'champagne fluff'. Another expression I love that describes the frosty coating is 'diamond dust'.

  4. It's just a wonderful feeling to walk outside your door and to know that there is no place else that you would rather be.

  5. This may be my favorite of your poems so far. I like the repetitions of the second stanza.

  9. Champagne fluff...genius! And beautiful.

I hope you find a way to clean your oven in an environmental way, if you do and it works, please let me know! I am going to put aluminum foil along the bottom from now on though, that was too much work! So glad it's nice and clean and shiny now.

  10. Yes, I understand this. I've felt this. From time to time I'll find myself in that place. I love the way you put it so simply and beautifully. The photo makes me happy looking at it. The freshness and lightness remind me that Spring is not far away, even though it's still winter. Thanks for this pleasant little lift this morning - you're a true "Spirithelper". xo Serena Pia

  14. What a glorious picture! I loved the poem, too. "Champagne fluff" caught my attention, but my favorite lines were those that started your last stanza: In one word/In one meadow/In one lover/the entire universe can be experienced Beautiful!
