Morning sunlight is subtle
it pours through a thin layer of off white clouds
all is painted in pearlescent light
soft shadows of gray show off
impressions left in the crusty surface of snow
who passed when I was not here
will they pass when I am some day
there is enough warmth in this frozen morning
to release the scent of the trees
I walk inhaling
feeling the scent permeate my insides
I feel as though a tree now lives
within

there's no road under that snow! I have to say 'tis a lovely place to wait to be rescued. Seven people stopped to ask if I need help, the last person with skill, was able to pull me out. I love Montana!:

ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. And if you have to be stuck in the snow (with dangerously low sub-Arctic temperatures), Montana is probably the place to be: Friendly people; well prepared. Be careful, though, friend -- stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWow! These are all amazing...love them! The photo of the valley and mountains almost looks like a drawing...so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pictures. Our friends from the Bitterroot Valley are down here for several months. I'll tell them about your blog.
ReplyDeleteExquisite photo blog you have here:)
ReplyDeleteI love all the blues and whites and all the shades in between! Crisp like fresh linen! :)
ReplyDeleteYou and your heaven are certainly on a roll. Years ago, during tai chi, I felt the tree within me as well.
ReplyDeleteChocolate mountains covered by powder-sugar snow. Looks good enough to eat.

Snow and ice can be so beautiful and a horror movie when it comes to drive !
ReplyDeleteIt's just so funny how people are so blind to words and what wondrous imagery they behold. Not one person mentioned your poem and it is really good. Just add a little warmth and one can merge with the essence of life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful account of being one with nature. Your writing is wonderful, and it transports my mind to what you experienced. The photos are a lovely accompaniment to the poem. I'm glad you enjoyed your moment of slowing down on the side of the road. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting such BEAUTIFUL photos. I LOVE them all! Thank goodness you were rescued:)
ReplyDeleteA bit more cold than we have it at the moment! Those "teeth" were terrifying.
