Spring flowers and a Chickadee

lovely spring beauties
one of our first flowers
usually in white(above)
sometimes pink:

do you know what these are?
(above)
I was thinking phlox, but i am not sure.

the lovely pasque flowers are here!

I love this little ones hairdo
funny how feathers get ruffled

~
Lovely spring day to you!

Pasque Flowers

listening to the spirit
that lies beneath the surface

allowing it's languid and lively presence
to permeate awareness
as well as stance

grace rises
within each breath

abiding a heart
of tender knowing

~

Pasqueflowers are a lovely sign of spring,
rising through the earth before the grasses
have barely begun to grow.
Sprinkled in meadows and grasslands.
A joyous celebration of new life.

Lovely Sunday and Easter to you!

In Search of the First Wildflowers

we found our first wildflowers of the year
(by driving over an hour north)
as well as
an emerald colored native bee!

the earth had but tiny blades of grass appearing amongst
the pine needle strewn forest floor

yet the lovely pasqueflowers hold their heads high
celebrating life

here and there a
scattering of lovely yellow bells

after a long winter
these first flowers
fill ones heart with joy

a new season is ours to embrace

Pasque flower

drove an hour north
nearly to Canada
to find
some of the first spring flowers

in years past I drove over the Rocky Mountains
to be in their presence
(a longer, yet beautiful drive)

imagine the delight to see the Pasque flower
lightly scattered over the prairie like land

bathing in sunlight

 being pollinated by fury bees

rising from the earth
after a long winters sleep

the joy of flowers
has touched the land

Becoming Spring

in the north we ride
the wave of seasons
winter pulled us under a deep cloak
of quietude
springs sprightly presence
teases our spirit to the surface

wandering a trail
in the wilds of Montana
feeling each cell of my body
and spirit
tremble and open
to meet new life

light pours from the sun
days imbued in blue skies
dancing clouds
earth wears a cloak of greens
sprinkled with
pristine essence
and
presence of wildflowers

I am Spring
