land holds tales of grace and gold
tales we wish that we'd be told
yet when we listen
with our eyes
and toes
the silent mysteries rise and fold
their wings of past
and present
around our soul
and we now know that we are
part of the tales
the land does
hold
tales we wish that we'd be told
yet when we listen
with our eyes
and toes
the silent mysteries rise and fold
their wings of past
and present
around our soul
and we now know that we are
part of the tales
the land does
hold

I like the photos of the aspens dreaming of spring. And the poem is lovely. I want to learn the land's mystery and become part of its tale.
ReplyDeleteTammie, what great beauty you capture! The first shot has a startling resemblance to India's textiles printed from nature . . . I was truly struck by the similarity. One of her works is featured on my blog, though not the most similar.
ReplyDeleteWhat would our earthly journey be worth if we just counted dollar bills and went through life blind to the sheer beauty of this world?
Many Happy Returns for your wonderful son's Birthday and a year full of as many joys as it can hold.
Hugs . . .Arija

Such intriguing colours. The shape of the trunks remind me of weaving and your words - how we are woven together with the land. You never cease to touch me, Tammie!

Oh yes, dock leaves do take the sting out of nettle stings. and it actually works! Most times you will find a dock plant growing near stinging nettles.
These trees reminded me of the trees in the wizard of oz for some reason. I love the little creek that runs through them!
