some trees have dropped their leaves
a perfect perch for a
Bald Eagle
some trees still cloaked in their golds
leaves float upon the pond
last night
was the first night
that the ponds froze
yesterday
these beautiful flowers celebrating life
in front of the health food store
not sure how many frosts they can exist through
autumn beckons life to sink below the surface of the earth
to rest deeply
till next year
I am enjoying the last of autumns
fungal beauty

DeleteYes, autumn is upon us and nature winds down to rest as we all enjoy the last colours and the freshness of the air. Beautiful shots of your part of the world, Tammie. Such beauty captured! I love the soft, gentle tones in photos six and seven and want to walk on that winding road!
ReplyDeletefun to take another look at 6&7 through you, thank you Sandra.
DeleteIt is truly soothing, that knowledge and sureness of a new cycle starting in some months time, when the chlorophyll starts flowing back into the leaves of the trees, with the warmer sunshine telling them it is time, when colors change again from monochromatic to bright.
ReplyDeleteSoon we will get snow and ice photos from you, as spectacular as your pictures of all four seasons.
I like how you love natural, and how your eyes are "seeing"...
Happy Sunday Tammie! :-)
thank you Yael. Yes, the cycles are turning. I can feel winter not far away, though my heart is still in Autumn. I know better now, by the time winter arrives my heart will greet it.

Stunning pictures - I am loving seeing how autumn treats the various places round the world through posts such as this. Autumn seems to have greeted you with rich hues in the landscape and low temperatures with the pond freezing over!

Your photos are simply beautiful, soothing to the soul. But at the same time, there’s something lonely and sad about the last phase of autumn, the process that things get muted in colors.
ReplyDeleteYoko

ReplyDeleteHave a great week! Lots has changed for me as of late.
