5.5 miles
up up up
rewarded with this view
(I am still sore, two days later)
the path varied
though mostly walking under the heat of the sun
there was some bits of forest
treasures along the way
(the colors of this little butterfly are so beautiful)
( I believe it is a puddling butterfly, little, do you know what it is called?)
( I believe it is a puddling butterfly, little, do you know what it is called?)
the meeting of a river and creek
rest
breath
bath in gentle light
a glimpse
up close
of catkins
spring's beauty
blue sky
white clouds
and
new life abounds
promise of summer berries
(huckleberries)
a beautiful day in the mountains

What a wonderful post. I almost feel like I was there (and I'm not sore at all).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Tammie.
You inspired a smile, thank you.
DeleteYou may be sore, but it’s a good honest soreness, and I am sure you felt it was all worthwhile. And I bet you slept well that night too!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, good soreness. And yes, worthwhile.
DeleteI thought I would sleep well too, but just ok... oh well.
The part of Apgar, in Montana, is the most beautiful thing I've seen in the world.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Tammie !
Tomás.
Yes, such a beautiful area!
Deletec'est des beautés de la nature..fleurs et animaux! biz
ReplyDeleteyes, nature's beauties.
DeleteGorgeous, Tammie. That water is just pristine and wonderful tight shot of the moth/butterfly. Yes, I'd be a hurting piece of gear but what a fabulous memory.
ReplyDeleteThank you for enjoying Jeanie.
DeleteOh my. What views, what treasures.
ReplyDeleteFirst time I've ever seen catkins
Thanks for sharing.
Magnificent mountain views!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I can imagine the breadth of the sky there. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent view! I'd make that hike any day to see that! I love seeing what you have going on up your way, and your photos are terrific! I don't think I've ever seen that butterfly species.
ReplyDeleteQUE LINDO LLEGANDO EL TIEMPO BUENO.

What a beautiful day, and you found many spring gifts along your walk!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new season!
What a great hike, spring in all it's glory.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful first hike, Tammie! So much greenery and new growth. It looks like a perfect spring day.
ReplyDeleteYour photos capture the sweetness of springtime wonderfully. What a hike... but I can tell that it was worth the soreness! The view from the top was definitely worth it.
ReplyDeleteI agree, a walk well worth the discoveries!
ReplyDeleteThe view from "up there" is fantastic!
And my favourite is your butterfly, indeed what gorgeous colours!
Keep well Tammie and rest!
Wow - stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful walk, I love the first hike of the season, and yes, I was pretty sore myself lol! :) But it was worth it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing beauty that restores the soul .
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely hike in the fresh greenery finding treasures along the way. At such a high elevation, sunlight would be stronger though air would be cooler, so I was cooled when I came to the forest. I really enjoyed this hike through your photos.
ReplyDeleteYoko
Stunning view from above....like being on top of the world!
ReplyDeleteReady to come visit you again! What a gorgeous hike
ReplyDeleteTo trek that distance uphill beneath a hot sun is a good day's work!
ReplyDeleteIt was so good to see the huckleberry cause I've never seen it. There is a song, Moon River, with the words huckleberry friend, and it so reminds me of my dad. Thank you for this special post and making me smile thinking of my dad. : )
