autumn rains were most welcome
after a dry summer
(I wish I could send it to California, along with the snow we got)
peppermint drop lichen
on an old log in the woods
seeing aqua logs in the woods is always a joy
they can be found, but not that many
autumn colors are past now
it was a lovely season
then the snow arrived....
so darn pretty
I thought winter arrived
but in most places it has melted away
( I live in a snow belt, the snow is still here )
the gentle lovely light of sunset
autumn leaning towards winter

lovely days and nights to you

Beautiful scenes of the season, Tammie. I do love that first snowfall, creating a scene of silence and purity! Lovely leaves after the rain.
ReplyDeleteYes, the first snow fall is quite lovely. And it has stayed at my place, in town it still looks like an autumn snowfall.
DeleteBeautiful shots, Tammie- it feels like the transitions of seasons is nicely underway.
ReplyDeleteThank you William
DeleteOne of the most delightful aspects of fall is fungi in the woods, so many colours, so many shapes, and if you know what is edible so much goodness.
ReplyDeleteHi David,
DeleteYes, the fall fungi! Quite poor this year, in fact this is the 2nd or 3rd poor autumn for them. Darn. I actually find myself thinking I need to drive to the coast to see mushrooms.
I love Fall and love winter, your photos are so lovely, the sunken canoe, it looks like ours, a Drummond? Why is it sinking? I’m curious as a cat lol,
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie,
DeleteThat canoe is on someone else’s property. It belonged to the previous owner and the owner now likes it like that. Somehow it is sentimental to him.
Thank you for your lovely message.
Tammie
We had not seen precious photos of the weather for a long time.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Tammie.
Tomás.
Yes, I have not posted much lately. I hope that changes.
DeleteGood one to you too.
So beautiful. I love that reflection shot.
ReplyDeleteThank you for enjoying these. I like the reflection too, the frozen water, the clear water.....eye candy.
DeleteYou live in such beautiful countryside. It is funny, that I find it surprising that you have had snow. After a long, sunny summer, the good weather has continued here in Scotland. Yesterday it didn't go below 52 degrees all night and it has been beautiful today. It is quite unseasonal, but welcome all the same!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie -- it's so nice to "see" you again and with these astounding views and details. I love the reflections best, of course, and your lovely cabin in the woods, but they all dazzle. I hope life is treating you well in this transition to a new season. For I can't quite say "winter" yet!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. I am enjoying the changes. It was shocking when it was hot summer one day and autumn the next. But autumn and winter are mingling regularly and slowly this year.
Deletethese shots are gorgeous especially the leaves shots. I like seeing new snow on nature though how quickly they melt away.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Thank you Lissa. I liked those leaves too.
DeleteBeautiful scenes and excellent photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terry.
DeleteI can't pick a favorite out of this set. They are all stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you for enjoying them all Sandy!
Deletewonderful series of photos. thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
Thank you for enjoying them Tanza
DeleteI have never seen purple logs. The snow scenes are serene and peaceful. Beautiful photos of my favourite seasons - autumn and winter. Thank you for sharing them!
ReplyDelete-Soma
It is always fun to spot them in the woods. Thank you for enjoying. It does feel peaceful here quite often.
DeleteThat reflection image is priceless!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for enjoying the reflection, it caught my heart too.
DeleteSuch pretty snow shots.
ReplyDeletePretty Autumn leaves, and the snowy house picture looks like a Christmas card. It was a treat for me to see the snow, as I don't get to see it much where I live, unless I drive about an hour to the mountains.

Another wonderful and colourful series, your compositions are magnificent!
ReplyDeleteWarm hugs :)
The light and reflections are wonderful. That lichen is a treasure!
