for us, winter has been mild
in my little snow belt
we have but a few inches of snow
and
some ice crystals to brighten our days
always a joy to have the natives pass through
all fluffed up in their winter coats
most our days are cloudy
and when the sun shines upon us
joy rises naturally
sunsets light
dances upon some trees longer than others
spring cleaning in winter
a squirrel's underworld home
~
I hope this finds you all well
and
enjoying your days and nights

It has been mild here too, and most of our snow has melted; in addition, other than for the odd sunny day it has been grey and overcast. Sunshine and snow would be very welcome.
ReplyDeleteYes, sunshine is a gift in winter! We have some today, with a lot of clouds.
DeleteYesterday it rained, quite a bit, now that is odd for our winter.
Sparkling fresh snow and a friendly deer! I love the sunset trees. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMay your December be beautiful in every way, Tammie!
Thank you so much Sandra!
DeleteWe are about to start the winter, snow is the most important companion, without it it seems that there is nothing. It's nice to see her.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Tammie !.
Tomás.
Yes, snow makes winter beautiful. It also gives life a fresh start come spring.
DeleteWithout snow, winter can look brown for a very long time.
Deer are always a delight to see- and they seem so curious about the camera.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are very watchful. They are no city deer, they get spooked easily.
Deleteaahh, that precious deer. What a sight that must have been for you. I can't believe this is a mild winter for you. It looks so cooooold.....and beautiful. The sunset shining on the trees is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, Tammie Lee. I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful photos in the new year.

We have had cold spells this winter, but not as cold as usual. And often we have a foot or two or more of snow and I still have the 2-3 inches that fell weeks ago. Not much moisture happening. Merry Christmas to you too Sheri.
DeleteI needed this post today, Tammie. The peace, the quiet, the beauty, the awe. Happiest of Holiday seasons to you, whichever you celebrate and no matter which, sometimes all IS calm.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie, lovely holidays to you too.
DeleteI do love the quiet and calm that winter can bring.
Yes, I think you're right about the fir trees, Tammie Lee. We got a Douglas Fir this year, and it smells so good...still does! Last year, we got one with barely a scent at all, so that's why I was asking if anyone knew. I like the real bushy ones cause they're nice to put ornaments on, but the firs always smell wonderful. : )
ReplyDeleteI have Doug fir and Grand fir, they both smell wonderful! specially if brushed up against. I wonder if the bushy ones are pines?
DeleteWhat beautiful photos! I hope your whole Holiday Season will be just as beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terry. Lovely holidays to you!
DeleteThose ice crystals are special gift in your winter season.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sun shine falling on the snow field!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,Tammie.
I love the crystals too Tomoko.
DeleteLovely holidays to you too!
Henry David Thoreau would have loved you place. Happy Holidays, friend!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right. Sometimes I think of Walden pond.
DeleteThank you, lovely holidays to you too!

ReplyDeleteStunning shots. We are having a mild, but snowy, Christmas.
ReplyDeletewhat is it about snow that makes everything look so beautiful? those are wonderful shots especially the first few snow shots.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
Happy New Year, Tammie. I'll look forward to following your adventures in 2019. Enjoy the peacefulness of white!
ReplyDeleteIt surely is lovely there! I love the ice crystals and the natives. I saw your question on IG today, and I don't know how to answer on IG (I'll learn tomorrow). For now, yes we do have a new family member. He's a 9 week old puppy named Hachi. We love him already, one week after we adopted him.
ReplyDeleteSuch brilliance and beauty. Thank you for capturing it and it sharing it with us all. Merry 2019!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, such peace here. Best wishes dear friend,
ReplyDeleteLove Kat xx
