she flew in front of me
wings spread wide
gliding
landed on a tree quite close
a feathered being of
the sky
an obvious queen
there is no
denying
we are in the midst of a 3 day snow storm
this sweet little creek photo was taken before the storm began
I think we have 8" so far, two more days to go
I think winter is showing off at this point ;-)

Winter is definitely showing off! I love the little creek before the big snowstorm! Wonderful shots of the eagle. I especially love the second one! Keep warm in your lovely snug home during the snowstorms!
ReplyDeleteFun that you enjoyed the second image, the eagle facing away and the crows which are good size birds, but look small next to the eagle.
DeleteThank you Sandra.
The snow gives you a lot of work (taking lots of pictures) and we really enjoy watching it.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Tammye!
Tomás.
Yes, I think I moved snow for an hour today and it has not stopped coming down today.
DeleteTomorrow I will spend another hour plowing in a truck and shoveling.
Now how could you have a bad day after an encounter like that? That is a serious amount of snow to be sure, but nothing you haven't seen before I suspect.
ReplyDeleteIt always is nice to see an eagle and later in town I spied two eagles high up in a cottonwood tree, too far to photograph, yet still a joy to see.
DeleteShe's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed her!
DeleteNow you must tell me how you know it's a "she"! Great photos of the eagle, Tammie. I think we get your storm tomorrow night into Friday. Gusty winds, too. Winter magic!
ReplyDeleteSo I could be wrong Barb, but she was huge and I read that the females are 30% larger than the males.... So I am guessing.
DeleteIt has not stopped snowing here today, slow and steady. It is beautiful. Not dramatic though, as I am not getting the winds. Only drama I have is when a tree releases it's snow and it crashes to earth. I love watching that. Wishing you a fun storm.
Your images of the eagle are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for enjoying Cathy.
DeleteOh Tammie, what a brilliant capture. You were definitely in the right place at the right Time.
ReplyDeleteLove when that happens! Magic.
DeleteGorgeous sight to see.
ReplyDeleteThank you for enjoying Mary.
DeleteQUE HERMOSA FOTO!!!LA NIEVE ME ENCANTA PERO EL AVE TAN ELEGANTE..
ReplyDeleteSALUDITOS
Yes, they are elegant. Especially when flying.
DeleteOh, how fierce and beautiful she is! I love your world.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I love our world.
DeleteGood Morning,Tammie.
ReplyDeleteSurely she is a king of birds!
Such a beautiful bird and your soft snow.
Those are absolutely gorgeous images! A fabulous Bald Eagle, and pristine snow - it doesn't get much better than that! Have a great week - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteWow! Fabulous shots of the eagle - and winter!
ReplyDeleteThe little creek is so sweet!! Beautiful photos of the eagle. "I think winter is showing off at this point" made me laugh out loud :)

She looks so majestic perching at the vantage point dignified. Yes, no doubt, she must be the queen of birds. If you don’t write “she” I would’ve thought it as a male. You were blessed for having seen her to photograph in spite of so much snowfall. But weren't you frightened when such a big bird glided in front of you? My winter might be over without snowfall this season.

Such wonderful photos of the eagle! I see them every day here but can never get close enough for a good picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a GRAND bird, indeed.
