through you
I am all things
in your depths the world is quiet
I remember
I am silence
along your shore
I am all things
in your depths the world is quiet
I remember
I am silence
along your shore
waters warm
I remember
I am the heat of the sun
floating on your skin
caressed between your water
and sky
I breathe and I am buoyant
standing
feet buried in your sands
I am rooted
in water languid
in air spirit
when I swim
through your body
I am movement alive
we are
much the same
my body is earth
container of living waters
you flow with and around all you meet
a mutable dance
changing form
liquid ice mist
I remember
I am the heat of the sun
floating on your skin
caressed between your water
and sky
I breathe and I am buoyant
standing
feet buried in your sands
I am rooted
in water languid
in air spirit
when I swim
through your body
I am movement alive
we are
much the same
my body is earth
container of living waters
you flow with and around all you meet
a mutable dance
changing form
liquid ice mist
honoring always the substance of who you are
enduring endlessly through all whom you nurture
enduring endlessly through all whom you nurture

Beautiful Tammie, being one with nature and touching everything. love this. have a great weekend. take care.
ReplyDeleteI like the way your imagery opens varied worlds; perhaps we all interpret your poems in different ways. Your photo grounds me in the literal, but your words allow me to imagine Mother Earth - the nurturer of all. The part is of the whole and the whole holds all the parts.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the show was successful!
Hi Cinner,
ReplyDeletethank you for letting this touch you.
Hi Barb,
Yes, everyone does interpret my poetry in different lights. I love seeing my words through all of your eyes and hearts. Thank you for sharing how this has touched you~

ReplyDeleteNow to this post: the words are inspiring as always and that photograph... How does it get more perfect and majestic than that? Have a wonderful Sunday surrounded by beauty.
Your beautiful picture helps bring forth the imagery. I like the metaphor of the lake and all the picture your poem brings forth.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem and pic , it does evoke that oneness with nature. You express it beautifully.
ReplyDelete~ Natural Blessings ~
So beautiful, and your words only add to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous photo. When I saw in your profile that you love "wandering in the wild", I knew that I had to come visit. Your words complement the photo perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI'm gradually trying to teach myself to be a photographer. I never owned a real camera until a year ago, and now I find myself looking at the world in a whole new way, just because I have a little camera in my pocket. It's funny how much power that little device has had, bring out the one artistic gene in me!
Thanks for sharing!
The poem is every bit as beautiful (and touching) as the photo. This is a wonderful post.

ReplyDeleteYou capture so well your deep enjoyment of nature in the "mutable dance."
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie, Thanks for visiting my post on flower pounding. I must tell you though that the quilting was free motion stitching. My machine has a way of looking hand stitched. It takes a lot longer but well worth the effort. NOW I am totally in love with your beautiful photo's and your amazing poetry.I think are minds must work alike. Nature is my way of life. I spent much time in Montana having a log home designed and built, then brought here to the foothills of the Cascades,WA. I was in Hamilton and Ennis every other week it seems. Love Montana. Love my log home now for almost 20 years. I am off to explore more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful...may I share it in my newsletter? I will credit you of course....If everyone came to your blog at the start of the day this would be a different world. This is a spiritual place...namaste....

Love to you!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo, Tammie, and such a clever interprestation of the word vicarious. Your poem is beautiful. I can feel and hear that silence, and feel the sun on my skin as I read, and then have a sense of becoming as one with the earth with feet rooted in the water. Beautiful.
