landing on earth
a bit tattered
yet all i feel is wonder
at their translucent filigree beauty

ReplyDeleteWe had a few flakes this morning, but when I tried to get pictures of individual flakes, they are all blurry. Sigh.

we got snow a couple days ago and dustings here and there since. Those weather guessers are suggesting we are about to get quite a bit. It does feel like winter now, trees are white until the wind blows and the earth is coated. I can almost xc ski, one more snow and i think I can safely head out.

As cold as it looks, it has a great beauty to it. We never have snow here so this is very pretty to see but I am glad I am snug and warm. :)

my camera would be better if i used a tripod. your question... how long does a flake last? well these were frozen to ice and may last longer. Longevity depends on the temperature. If it is below freezing and nothing disturbs them, they last until it is above freezing. Every time it snows, the snow is different, sometimes like sugar, sometimes little balls, sometimes like stars made out of compressed snow and sometimes crystalline beauties.
