treasures of and in trees

i love 

to find nests in winter trees

when leaves have fallen from their branches 

nests are revealed for us to enjoy

a winter treasure to find

they grow 

they build

within the chill of the night

offering a sight for our delight

 frosty fur 

it appears to be

yet look up close

what do we see

crystals of ice

like flowers

yes winter and spring have begun to mingle

doing their annual dance

some days they frost and snow like winter

other days we glimpse green grass

where light does dance

and colors do shine

winter days

they switch and sway

luring 

like a siren

speaking to our quiet parts

while enlivening our breath and hearts

reflecting depth and light

lines they wrinkle crinkle and furrow

blown by the wind and waves

snow that melts
shadows that preserve

snowflakes piled this way and that

textures
layers

light and shadow

designs that pull ones eyes along the lines
a sensuous caress

i love it when the mountains breath

turns to clouds

flows through the sky

into our eyes

 time passes by

all the while the sky

is full of changes

For Me, Trees are Majesty

walking amongst the winter trees

where snow does land upon their limbs

and fog drifts amongst them

the sun comes out to shine
