The Mountain's Breathe

i love it when the mountains breath
turns to clouds
flows through the sky
into our eyes

 time passes by
all the while the sky
is full of changes

An Autumn Blessing

may your path be bright and clear

may your heart always hear
the singing of the leaves
dancing of the trees
whispers of the wind
telling who are kin
may peace also abound
joy and laughter be your friend
let all journeys fill your life with beauty love and light

The Sun Came Out to Play

perhaps you remember my autumn day
at this very location: click here to view

blue skies
aquamarine waters
circles of land cloaked in winters fading snow

textures reveal
light and shadow
line between
terra and blue yonder a visual delight

do you know who made these tracks?
I would love to hear your thoughts

maybe river otter?

and

I went to the bear tree, do you remember?
this next photo is one from that post: here

well
last autumn
mama and one of the two cubs returned

mama climbed the tree and little one gave up the climb half way up
cub did that twice and is reported to have stayed on the earth
for two days while mama was in the den way up at the top

then....
the cub made it up
tucked in for the season....

a wind storm came
howling mighty
the rotten Cottonwood Tree fell to the earth
oh my
no one found the bears on the earth
so we envision they wandered off

this is what i found:

the tree fallen
looked so much smaller than it did from afar
with bears in its limbs

I looked at claw marks from them climbing the tree

the marks were plenty up and down the tree

~
I sat in the den
and felt what it might have been like
to live in a tree

this was their den
a home for three....

Water Sky

 water
sky
light
reflection
earth beneath
heaven above

stars they dance for our eyes at night
invisible as daylight glows
lake surface satin smooth
visual grace
a sensual show
igniting our hearts
while soothing our souls

Enraptured

imagine that life exists
simply and always exists
before and after we meet each spectacular moment
life is

yesterday a breath of air and moisture existed
at night they mingled with freezing temperatures
grew into a delight for our eyes
winter crystals

sun comes to shine
and they melt
but that life
lived before and now after they were born into crystals

imagine that life always is
~

this is where I met these crystalline beauties:

to my eyes
this mornings forest was cloaked in fuzzy frost
yet up close
I was enraptured with what I found

Colors of the Day

 glorious solo tree
branches flying free

colors of the day
make my heart sway

spirit is transformed
by the land and all I see

summer is the gift
yellow green blue and white

more than sight
the day is like a sprite
embedding colors in my psyche

Choices

so many choices rise
as I browse through yesterdays photography
of my time in
Glacier National Park
sunsets
rocks beneath water
rising mountains in their majesty

a friend once shared with me
having an option
a choice
is such a grand thing
a sense of freedom
to live ones dream
so I choose to share nature's beauty
with you

endlessly

Clouds of Spring

within each day
winter to spring
winter to spring
then
spring to winter
these two dance
back and forth
twirling
curtsy and bow
they flit and fly about one another
a squall of snow flurries
ice and melt
piles of hail that pummel and pelt
sun that shines
clouds wild masterpieces
hints of warmth most days
before long Spring
shall reign

Sunset Sky in Montana

These photos are of one evening:

inhale
the sky fills you
exhale
you fill the sky

walk
the earth supports you
eat
your body is made of earth

see
your world alight
nourishment
via eyes

speak
you are the music life hears
listen
hear the song of birds
laughter
your heart beat

we are the world
the world is us
~

Bear Grass

We've had a lovely week,
blue skies that release the warm scents of summer.

Bear Grass

flowers like bright torches
illuminated in sunlight
ignite the forest floor
drawing us to their beauty
also true
of you
a light
that shines brightly as you carpet the earth
sharing your unique qualities
precious and worthy
touching hearts
as you go

Inhale

I drove up the North Fork to glimpse Larry's Cabin going up.
The logs went up in one day!
I think it would be grand to see the sky through the roof regularly.

Once a beautiful day is inhaled
it becomes part of you
the scent
permeates every cell
and lives on in your footsteps

Flowers and Clouds

There is no more leaning forward towards spring
She is here
fresh rains cleanse our world
earth drinks deeply of melting snows
and spring showers
a thick green coat paints our world
nature is grand
her abundance begins
blue skies and clouds sing: dream and dream and dream
blossoms enhance this song
inspiring new life after a long winter

May spring grace you with her beauty!

Jesusita Fire

While visiting loved ones in Southern California the Jesusita Fire began.
Last fall I was there and the Tea Fire began, I am not sure what to think of my timing!
Wild fires like these inspire fear and sadness -
as well as the coming together of a community to support one another.
Santa Barbara has had three huge wild fires within the period of one year!

From thirty miles away,
smoke like this tells of an immense fire!

Ten miles closer:

Sitting at my son's, we could see the fires roaring up the mountains, explosions igniting in blacks, greens and yellows. Homes threatened and burning:

Sun veiled in smoke:

Home again, today's temps around 50F and rain dances on my ponds.
The earth's cloak turns greener daily, such a difference from the southern land of California!

Spring Equinox

Tis a time of celebration
welcoming of a new season
today clouds threaten to take over
yet the sun comes out to play from time to time
showing a grand blue sky!
These pictures were taken one after the other
you can see
we have a moody day!

Yes I had to wear my winter boots to get to the pond
sinking a foot and more in the soft melting snow.
Still the bridge where I ate my lunch was dry,
the day warm enough to be barefoot as I
enjoyed my salad with salmon.
Today is the first day I sat outside eating lunch,
perfect on Spring's Equinox!
