they grow
they build
within the chill of the night
offering a sight for our delight
frosty fur
it appears to be
yet look up close
what do we see
crystals of ice
like flowers
yes winter and spring have begun to mingle
doing their annual dance
some days they frost and snow like winter
other days we glimpse green grass

Yes seem metal flowers. The true flowers are coming soon.

ReplyDeleteDear Tammie, You always capture the most exquisite images of hoarfrost and I know how hard that is. Such ephemeral flowers. Enjoy the dance. I know you do. ;>) Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteHola Tammie,

Another batch of magnificent ice photos, Tammie. I know you love all the seasons equally so I won't say I hope spring hurries on its way for you (as I wish it would for us!!!!) but I hope you are keeping warm and enjoying winter's last dance.

Such beauty! Your photography does it great justice, Tammie.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots. Those ice crystals look like perfectly formed leaves. I love the way you have captured some rainbow colours in that fourth shot. The last one shows such astonishing shapes too. Glorious! The beauty of winter!
ReplyDeleteTammie, you probably get asked this a lot, but what lens do you use to shoot the snowflakes with? THANKS!!
