Spring Flowers

in the wild places of NW Montana

spring is still a mix of dead plant debris from last autumn
and

tiny signs of new growth

wandering along a river path

i found a bit of color

you know it had me on my knees

capturing it's portrait
it's scent like an elixer
had me delighted

~

what flower is this?
it looks very much like a lilac
and yet the petals seemed more fragile thin
i wonder if there is a wild variety?

  2. Oh so pretty Tammie, what a gorgeous color too.

No (hardly) any signs of spring here yet but at least the sun is starting to shine!

    Happy Weekend, G :<)

  3. Beautiful Tammie! I can fully understand how the sweetness of these delicate blossoms could humble you. Lovely! Especially when spring is still not truly awake there. I do not know what they are. I think I love the buds more than the full blown flowers. Such promise there. Hugs from Massachusetts. Carol

  10. Beautiful shots of this unknown pink flower. I especially love the second image showing the yellow centres of the flowers and the last beautiful bud and the intensity of the colour.

  12. TL-I so love the statement "had me on my knees" - isn't that just the truth about the power of nature - it produces such exquisite shapes and colours that we can resist taking a closer look; and you have captured this fragile new beauty so crisply - thanks for showing us a bit of the beauty of your wanderings. 33. Namaste!:)...
There's so much beauty around us! EVERYTHING in Nature is miraculous! I hope that Good is prevailing in our world, too...
I haven't seen such a tree, but I hope someone has and knows its name. Here is how wild lilac looks like -

Isn't it exciting that this charming plant lives without the aim to be seen, to "show off", to be admired... But its existence has a purpose and I'm sure it's an important one!!:)

  34. Lovely pictures Tammie, Wild Montana is truly a beautiful.
I recently watched a film called 'Last of the Dogmen', set in Montana. I was disappointed to see that the majority of the filming had been taken over the border in the Banff National Park and Canmore.
There's a beautiful film I remember watching directed by Robert Redford filmed in Montana. 'A River Runs Through It'.
    Why go elsewhere ?

  41. Tammie, those are beautiful. I love spring, but it has sprung and left our area already. We should be close to 90 this weekend ... now I'm waiting for October. :)

  42. I think that is an old fashioned Daphne. I have a couple of them that came from my grandmothers farm. Do you know if it gets red berries when it is done blooming? If it does than it is indeed a daphne, and beware, those berries are poisenous. However you can start new plants from them, that's how i got mine.
