the voices of the day
call to me
call to me
first the rivers song
rolling over rocks
whispers to my ear
the swell of the breeze
mingling with the trees
and their dry leaves
music in the air
music in the air
autumn grass quite dry
bending in the breeze
crisp sounds they do make
crisp sounds they do make
the more i listen
the more i hear

I went camping up the North Fork, Polebridge area last week
Autumn is entirely beautiful this year...
It is the glad to be alive, crisp air season. Lovely photos and words today Tammie
ReplyDeleteIt shows in your writings you have an inner life that ...do not fit on your body.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Tammie !

Gorgeous Autumn. Ours is about over, had snow on Friday. Thank goodness it melted away before I leave the canyon next week.
ReplyDeleteWe went out with a bang, and now we listen closely to re-collect that which bongs the truth.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, and proof that autumn is with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm off on assignment for a week or two, so no blog or email. I shall return . . .
with photos from northern U.S. -- alas, not near enough to your beautiful state.
Not yet.

What stunning pictures! Autumn is disappearing far too fast for my liking over here...
ReplyDeleteI love the cadence of your words Tammie. I'll whisper that stanza to myself tomorrow on my walk. Those river rocks that I love are entertaining a colorful guest! The high peaks are white here - it snowed Sat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Looks like you have had more clear sky than we have.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoy your poetry and beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteI love autumn!!!
Beautiful seasonal shots. My favourite is the river song rolling over rocks... there's something about the colours and the feelings of calm coming up from the essence of the water and the variety of rocks below.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous time of the year which brings peace and acceptance - like that little floating leaf going with the flow.
Hello Tammie! I'm back from MT, but I didn't make it to the North, hence my silence. I've posted a couple of photos of Yellowstone and these photos though different remind me of gorgeous and awe-inspiring moments... Thank you!
ReplyDeleteReally nice poem and pictures to go with it :-) Well done!

Great pictures as usual Tammie.
ReplyDeleteI can see Marilyn Monroe and Robert Mitchum on their raft in that river. (River of no Return 1954)
Filmed just north of you in Banff and Jasper
I keep repeating myself, but truly, your images are so beautiful, they make my heart flutter!
