the sun came out to light our world
hurray hurray
home sweet home in nearly two feet of snow
this week
this week
(nearly wore me out plowing and shoveling
the good kind of being worn out that is followed by a hot bath and good sleep)
(nearly wore me out plowing and shoveling
the good kind of being worn out that is followed by a hot bath and good sleep)
rivers are frozen
held in shadows and light
snow capped posts falling to the side
something about looking down a river
that inspires the imagination to jump to life
a yearning to wander
and once in a while
sunset thrills us

i love it too Felicia, thank you!
Gros bisous ♡
yes, your Icarus would love to play in the snow, which is so much fun to watch. Thank you for your lovely visit!
DeleteBeautiful! Of course, winter is my favourite season, so I'm biased.
ReplyDeleteI love winter too ~
DeleteBeautiful place you live in! We've got nearly 2 feet of snow too, and -6F temps.
Deletewow, two feet for you and cold temps, sounds very similar mr. gnome
Deleteeven though I don't like the cold, if I live there, I would definitely take a chance, go outside and take photos.
ReplyDeletegorgeous photos! thanks for posting them. hope you have a sweet day.
oh yes, so worth going outside and it really is rather nice the past couple of days, not like the deep cold of last week.
DeleteWe have had a lot of snow also, in the past three days! We too had the tractor out to plow. When I got home from work today, I couldn't even tell that I had shovelled snow for 45 minutes last night? The wind chill has caused us to have many indoor recesses, and it is only day three of school since the holidays! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets here lately, too?
ReplyDeleteI really like how the snow plied caps on the fence posts are starting to tilt in your pictures! "Romantic scenes, and as usual, delightful poetry!
oh, i don't like it when i plow and shovel and an hour later there is no evidence of all the hard work. but we also know that we are keeping on top of it. our schools were closed for two days because roads were so bad. I like it when the snow begins to lean too. thank you for your visit Renee.
DeleteOh
ReplyDeleteTL! You have dazzled me with sun off snow, with skies and sighs!

malgré la neige, ces belle images font chaud au coeur... pour icarus une place de jeu.. pour mes chihuahuas ...une mer profonde :))))
ReplyDeleteOh so much snow - beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteHug Crissi
oui , une mer profonde
Deletevous auriez peut-être les perdre , ils auraient besoin de chaussures de neige ou ailes ; - )
je vous remercie pour votre message
Hello to you in this new year!
ReplyDeleteI do love that first photo in its gorgeous simplicity! Your snowy world looks so gorgeous and so does your cabin! Love the snow-capped posts looking like chimneys with fluffy white smoke billowing over the top! I can only imagine all the work your shovelling and ploughing gives, but how gorgeous to soak in a hot bath afterwards. Mmmmm!
whoa....TWO FEET of the white stuff....yikes......we had 10 to 12 inches and I was "kaputt" shoveling out the driveway......I think with two feet I'd probably be in the hospital:) You make winter look so beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteyes, it is a lot of work to move snow around
Deletei slept so good that night, yea!
but i did use a plow truck for the roads..... it is nice to have a break from moving snow for the last couple of days ;-)
now to get a fire going and warm this little place up.
lovely weekend to you!
Such beauty ~ in the snow, the landscape, the nuances and the worn out place.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love those leaning snow capped posts. They were my second focal point.
And that sunset ... that sunset ...
We are in the middle of winter and we can see it. The last picture is frightening.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
Gorgeous and inspiring images..yes such a super-thrilling sun colored sky! Beautiful as always! I feel refreshed!
ReplyDeleteHugs and Happy 2015! I look forward to more of your magic this year!
Such beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteThat first image . . . all that minimal, powerful beauty.
Your beautiful home looks so snug, wrapped under all that snow.
Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful photos of your winter wonderland. Montana is such a wonderful place. I'm glad I found your corner of the blog world.
ReplyDeleteOhh soooo pretty!!!!!Love love love it:)))
ReplyDeleteWow - these shots are so beautiful. And your log cabin is adorable.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty! We only have dustings of snow here so far... Winter has a beauty all it's own .... love to enjoy it from the comfort of a warm home :) My days of playing or working in the snow are limited these days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series from your place. Love winter!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Tammy.
Hugs from Hilda
What can I say? That despite the sore muscles, you are so very lucky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cosy home you have! In a remoted, quiet and unbelievably beautiful place! I believe you've spent many happy moments and hours, days and nights there. And am sure new ones are there to come! From the other hand you must be brave to live there and to recognize all the noises that you probably hear...
ReplyDeleteYour photos show the beautiful winter fairytale you are living in! Let it last longer with more sunshine to sprinkle it and show the beauty of the season!
Best wishes for healh and smiles, Tamie!xx
Beautiful photos - I love snow!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful winter you´ve got ! Here on the swedish westcoast we (almost) only have rain this winter. We notice the climate change very much. Thanks for the greetings. I paint sometime, only as an amateur. The local Art gallery asked me if I could do an exhibition and I said yes ! :-))
ReplyDeleteSo it will be both watercolours and photos!
So beautiful and wonderful. All that gorgeous snow! I love snow in sunlight too. :) Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
ReplyDeleteas always absolutely gorgeous Tammie
ReplyDeleteevery image would grace any wall beautifully
Wow, gorgeous! You got a lot more snow than we did!
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine anything more beautiful than living where, and how, you are. My dream has always been a log cabin in the woods by a river and the mountains lift your landscape beyond beauty. i long for real seasons. Lately we have had our spring and autumn cut out of the equation and keep veering between the extremes of summer and winter.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting that brilliant, clear air sunshine.
absolutely beautiful images Tammie. I guess you would have had a wonderful Christmas living in this picture perfect winter wonderland. Happy New Year to you!!
ReplyDeleteHace mucho frío, pero al menos ya salió el sol.
ReplyDeleteTammie, adoro tu casa, el lugar donde vives!
Es precioso.
Un beso querida amiga.
