I have been learning about my trees
spruce, fir, pine and larch
making tea from their freshly born tips
the mountains are cloaked in
spring snow
everything is wet
we had 2 1/2 days on non-stop rain
these little American Dippers
are water wizards
i watched them dive into a raging river
nearly made my heart stop
then it reappeared
above is the raging river
along a quiet lakes shore
(below)
i found lovely anemones
spring
a vibrant
and
beautiful season

Dear Tammie,
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos! And please tell me, what's the taste of this tree tea? Refreshing like peppermint, I wonder?
x Ariane
dear Ariane,
Deletei am using the fresh light green tips, maybe 5 of them to a cup of hot water. the taste is quite subtle, the after taste is lovely in a special and unique way. they are all super high in vitamin C and other good things. the needles, I read, can be used all year round, but it is the spring ones that are special as they are temporarily soft and tender. Yes, refreshing and light. Not like peppermint.
Thank you for your lovely visit and for asking.
It is noted that the plants are very tender,it´s nice to see them.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
looks peaceful there, & the little bits of leftover rain makes it seem even calmer.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day
so much life in your photographs...the air must smell amazing among all those wet trees. the tea sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!!Very refreshing. I like to see the beauty in the wet you captured. The bird sitting on the water is pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Everything so fresh washed from the rain and bringing out the delicate spring colours. Those tiny pink flowers are so charming. The evergreen spring buds sound like they make a delicious hot drink. I have eaten homemade 'honey'made from 'bourgeons de sapin' (fresh green fir-tree buds). Most delicious!
