3 times the average rainfall this month!
when the wet earth is warmer than the air
mist rises
in the rainy seasons
mushrooms push up through pine needle soil
rain a perfect environment for lichens and moss to thrive
in the high mountains
rain becomes snow

Well, once again, the purple mushroom intrigues. But that mist and then the snow scene remind me of Narnia or Camelot. Exquisitely beautiful in every single way.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid weekend.
Thank you for enjoying them Jeanie. Fun to consider Narnia and Camelot.
DeleteSplendid weekend to you too.
Perfect weather for mushrooms. You got some beautiful photos on walk through the mist and wet forest.
ReplyDeleteYes, perfect weather for them. Thank you for enjoying.
DeleteYour second and final shots are my favourites.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know William, it is fun for me to consider anew.
DeleteI love the second image - so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd image 4, a magical miniature forest, is it moss or lichen?
Thank you Tammie,
Ruby
hi Ruby,
DeleteI believe it is mostly lichen. Though lichen, moss and fungi all seem to be related, the more i learn, well the more there is to learn. These beings are amazing to consider. Thank you for your visit and letting me know which ones touched you.
The blog is wonderful, as always. The most beautiful shots, for me, are the third and the latest.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Tammie

You're getting some colorful fungi, Tammie! We had some rain at the house this week, but the peaks got snow. At this time of the year, it could fall as either. Beautiful last photo marking the snow line!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. That last photo is like seeing two different worlds side by side. Beautiful!

I'm feeling strange, while looking at these breathtaking photos. I "hear" the silence, the rattling of the rain drops, the sound of the shoes walking on the wet grass... You've captured amazing sights, Tammie, thank you for the pleasure!!
ReplyDeleteSo rich!
ReplyDeleteYou captured the beauty of the rain and snow Tammie! We've had about the same here too and I just love it!

Beautiful photos ♥ We are desperate for rain here! Everything is turning brown and wilting :(
ReplyDeleteSame story here in southern Norway, but this weekend the sun visited us again, and I've been outdoor most of the time enjoying the magic colors of autumn :-)
ReplyDeleteNice pictures Tammy! Mist rising from the ground always creates a really good mood :-)

Beautiful photography, love the colors. So different from the dry desert environment where I am usually taking pictures! The transition from rain to frost in the last photo is impressive!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful T.
ReplyDeleteHow perfectly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEverything... The mushrooms, the lichen, the moss. Just beautiful.
Even the very wetness... Is lovely.
Samhain blessings,
Luna Crone
Wonderful images after the rain! Those amazing mushrooms in such bright, shiny colours. My favourite image has to be the second from last which looks like a beautiful still life arrangement!
ReplyDeleteFOTOS PRECIOSAS.
ReplyDeleteESOS COLORES MORADOS...SON VENENOSOS???
SON PRECIOSOS.
SALUDITOS
Wow, the colour on some of those fungi is truly amazing. When I see the profusion of fungi in the forests here I always wish I had the secure knowledge of which ones are edible and I would fill a basket in an instant!
ReplyDeleteDear Tammie - Thanks for sharing the beauty of the wet forest and mountains. Our September was rainy or cloudy and good for the moss in my garden. Your mushrooms are so colorful. Rain, mist, or snow makes the scene atmospheric.
