on the threshold of winter
(even though it has seemed like winter for a few weeks)
when the light does come out
it is incredibly magical
I have seen this male a few times
one of his antlers is half missing, broken
I wonder what his story is
soon they will be dropping their antlers
and begin to grow a new set
forest paths
beckon snow clad
most days are cloudy
when the sun comes out
it is time to celebrate
step out into the day
let the light pour into our eyes
and
kiss our skin
the shores of lakes
grow treasures of ice
as it has been a super cold month!
here we are on the threshold
between Autumn and Winter
the shortest day
and
longest night of the year
~
from my wee cabin
to yours
I wish you a lovely Solstice!

Wonderful captures. I love them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Solstice.
Dear Tammie Lee,
ReplyDeleteThese photos are simply breathtaking.. The ice looks like beautiful bottles dancing on the water.
Happy Solstice!

Gorgeous shots! I imagine the deer got himself into a scrap. Well, as you say, they lose the antlers over the winter anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe light. The deer. The snow. Where you are is simply magnificent -- it takes my breath away.
ReplyDeleteGentle Solstice to you.
Happy Solstice to you Tammie! Your world and photography is as stunning as ever. Thank you. All Best Wishes for the holidays there in your "wee cabin" and giant landscape. You can prune your apples anytime really but best to do in dormant months like now until spring.
ReplyDeleteBonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteLe spectacle est merveilleux !! Merci pour ce délicieux moment.

What simply gorgeous images of your snowy wonderland! The lighting in that first shot is spectacular and the ice patterns are amazing. I'm glad your deer friend will soon be getting new antlers! I love your cabin surrounded by majestic trees! Happy Christmas to you! You have all the snow that we would like to see at Christmastime!
ReplyDeleteWow - such spectacular winter beauty! Wishing you joy and light over the holiday season.

Such beauty you have shared again today ♥ Love the ice sculptures ♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking images from your magical winter wonderland, Tammie. The icicle sculptures, a buck, a lovely little cabin…, all is wonderful. The blue skies after the grey days must be refreshingly beautiful, but even the grey skies look beautiful with pearly glow to me. Stay warm.

Dear Tammie. I got up this morning to the exciting thought that it's official - summer is at last on its way back to us. Then I looked at your wonderful images this evening and thought to myself that winter certainly has its upside - particularly if you are in such a beautiful location as you are!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a truly wonderful Christmas, and wish you health and happiness for 2017 - - - Richard
