as we lean towards spring
each snowfall inspires my smiles
taking to heart winter's spirit
breath-enhancing sunsets.....
morning ice crystals
made of fairy wings
rocks under faceted ice
make ones heart sing
celebrated my birthday at one of my beloved places
stayed for the alpine glow sunset
the first sunset in this post is of the night before
very similar sunsets
and
so beautiful
the sweet little birds
that stay with us all winter
~
lovely end of winter to you!

Fabulous photographs of your beautiful area! The 'fairy wings' ice crystals are magical! Wishing you a wonderful and belated birthday, dear Tammie. Lovely to see you in one of your beloved places!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for enjoying the photos and for your lovely birthday greeting.
DeleteI almost always go to this lake on my birthday.
Well, Happy Birthday to you. You have got to live in one of our most beautiful states, and you display it well. We are getting ready for a snow in the mountains, and rain here along the coast storms. I know we still have March to go, but I already feel a bit of spring.
ReplyDeleteI agree, such a beautiful area! We got more snow today. But somehow there is a tiny bit of spring in it.... Maybe it is my imagination.
DeleteA very happy birthday to you. It looks like a glorious way to celebrate. The photos are gorgeous and let me say that might be my all time fave of your ice crystal images! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteTHank you for your birthday greeting Jeanie.
DeleteAnd for enjoying the photos and the ice crystal!
Happy birthday, Tammie! How blessed you are to be celebrated by these fascinating nature. Ice flower crystal is the one I long for to see. My favorite is the “breath-enchanting” sunset with the rosy snow-caps of the mountains, which made me feel like gazing at till everything sinks into darkness.

Hello Yoko,
DeleteThank you for your lovely message. The sunset was so lovely and calm. Thank you for enjoying it!
There is nothing quite so endearing, and profoundly moving in its own way, than having a bird alight on your hand to feed. The level of trust is palpable, and such contact with wild creatures can be life-changing for some.
ReplyDeleteA Very Happy Belated Birthday, Tammie! I am so glad that you got to spend your birthday there. It is gorgeous. Your photos and your words capture the winter's spirit so beautifully. The snowflake made of fairy wings is stunning. Thank you, Tammie, for sharing!

It look strangely warm there. I like the reflective mountains mirrored in the water shots & the snowflake is quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Those mountains are incredible. Nice to see that the bird is accustomed to you.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty as always here. I hope you are well dear friend. Many blessings and happy wishes for your Birthday. I love checking in here and think of you in your special part of the world.
ReplyDeleteSuch an incredible part of the world and your pictures capture the scenery so beautifully. We have had a rather damp and windy winter here in Scotland.
ReplyDeleteWow - those alpine glow sunsets and sunrises are stunning! Happy belated birthday!
