My goodness, it has been near a year....

Kokanee Salmon are swimming upstream

spawning season

Always a joy to see their bright orange bodies

moving through the water

And the rocks

cloaked in dancing light and shadows

So hard to choose just one photo to share with you.

(which of these would you choose, 1, 2 or 3?).

~

Wishing you a lovely day and beyond.

  1. Hi Tammy, Nice photos of the fish and the stones in the water are wonderful. If I must I choose no 1. Great "sun patterns ".
    Best wishes/Lasse

  2. Beautiful watery images, Tammie. Of the fish images, I like number two the best, as for the stones with the lovely patterns created by the sunlight and movements of the water, I love them all the same! Lovely to see you posting again!

    Such fascinating photos!
The only salmon we see in my tropical corner of the world are the frozen ones in the supermarket!

    1. Thank you so much. These salmon are smaller than the ones in the supermarkets. But people do eat them.

  6. They're beautiful! So alive (and so lively)! Even in the stones you can feel the movement of the water rushing over them. Thank you!

    1. It is fun to see the fish, a special time of year. I might go visit them today, their season might be nearing an end.

  7. I would choose three, cause the water's reflection on the rocks makes a unique design. I tend to like close-up things.
So good to see a post on your nature blog, Tammie Lee. I really think you take some of the best nature photos in blog land.

    Have a sweet September week.

  9. Hi Tammie Lee.
Great to see you back. Your pictures are always so lovely and you certainly live in a beautiful part of the world. I can't believe how clear the water is. Not a spot of algae on the stones.
    I would choose picture 2!

  11. Thank you, Tammie, for your comment during my summer break. Nice to see you again on this blog. This heavenly beautiful river seems to be filled with a myriad of gods residing both in animate like Kokanee salmon and inanimate like the rocks. I go for 3.
