First Snow

Our first snow of the season

landed on trees that still have autumn leaves

a mix of autumn and winter

striking to see golden leaves in a nearly black and white realm

I wonder what deer think of the change of season?

morning two of the snowstorm

covered us even deeper in snow

offering a mystical and magical white realm

    1. I think snow is beautiful in nature, but not as much in city streets. Thank you Jeanie ~

  3. So beautiful! The first snow always feels like a new world arriving, promising all kinds of opportunities for cozy treats.

I'm a little surprised that it's arrived so early for you. Around here, it's warm enough that we're still going barefoot, still pretending that summer might never end.

    1. Yes, a new world, well said. Going barefoot sounds nice. The first snow was right on time for our area. But we got more than usual.

It's not that cold here in the Netherlands yet.

    1. For here the snow is on time. But often it melts away. A lot has melted, but the ground is still white and the trees are back to green.

    Andrea

  9. Oh Tammie Lee, it is such a delight to see your first snow. You got quite a bit! We had our first snow also, but it was only a dusting of snow, and we usually get much more in December and January. That deer photo is wonderful. I just had one come up my front porch and stayed for a few minutes on my front yard. It was a sight!

I truly appreciate your nature photos. They always make my heart sing. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Tammie Lee.
