The lovely pasque wildflower is gracing our presence in prairie landscapes.
Just as lovely from the back as it is from the front of their blooms:
Lately we have had Ms. Fox passing through often.
Sometimes I find her curled up on my lawn, right off my porch.
Maybe because I don't have domestic pets?
She is a red fox but considered a Cross fox due to her unique coloring.
Right now she is molting, a month ago she was fluffy as can be.
We know she has at least 3 kits. The papa comes around to play and be with them.
Spring flowers bloom later here in NW Montana than most places.
I do anticipate their arrival and am willing to drive hours to be with them.
also known as fairy spuds
as their corms are edible, but tiny
This handsome garter snake appeared when half the earth was still cloaked in snow. I was surprised to see it out of hibernation.
I love being surprised by nature as it teaches me its ways.

Lovely spring to you!

DeleteThe fox is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteShe really is. Hi William.
DeleteIt's wonderful to see spring emerge in your world: beautiful flowers, lots of life. The fox really is a beauty, and so is the garter snake. Happy spring!
ReplyDeleteThank you for enjoying. Spring is such a lively and exciting time.
DeleteHello, Tammie, nice to hear from you again. Flowers coming through ground and blooming or animals like a fox are all pleasant surprise to me, ... except for the snake. Sorry, but somehow it always gives me creeps since my childhood. Enjoy your spring.

I think a lot of people don't care for snakes. These are harmless, unless you are a frog.
DeleteBeautiful, enjoy!

Thank you Hilly.
DeleteSpring has arrived in your area! Such pretty flower photos. I really like that purplish blue dangling flower. And that fox! She looks quite mean in the second photo haha. Isn't that something that she sits on your lawn near your porch? Be careful of the snake. I haven't seen any here yet in the mountains of northern California.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid May week, Tammie Lee.
