Montana Spring Flowers and Macros

sweet little bell
flowers of the kinnikinnick
so happy to see you

trillium
darling of the forest

curly bit of bark
upon a mossy carpet

mandala of tiny flowers
called Mountain lover
so tiny the flowers could nearly be missed

the details of cedar
a joy to behold

Red Twinberry
sweet spring flowers
above and below

so lovely to be finding flowers again

baby cone and needles of the Tamarack Tree
aka Western Larch

lovely earth day to one and all
today and forever

Spring Walk

walking in the woods
a cool day
mixed with warmth from the sun

paused at a muddy spot
to consider paw prints
looks like a young lion passed by

a gentle breeze passed through
carrying the subtle scent
of skunk and pennyroyal

(photo not pennyroyal)

 I wonder at the story...
who got sprayed by a skunk and why
I smelled something similar this week
near my cabin
a lion killed a deer
I set a trail camera on the carcass
checked the camera a couple days later
and this is what my camera captured:

 pausing in one spot
treasures found
a sleeping lady bug I spy

and a bumble bee flew by

new growth on Tamaracks

yellow violets sun bathe

trees with vibrant buds

in one spot it feels
as though the entire spirit of life exists

(moss flowers)
I find quiet joy in this

Montana Autumn, Yesterday:

colors divine
air refined

light and shadows
hold an autumn hue

giant Tameracks
pillars aflame

waters reflect sky

brush a perfect camouflage

colors galore

Colors of a Season

this autumn has filled it's days
with a brilliant show of colors

light and shadow dance

a delight for our eyes

gals getting their gobble on:

Tamaracks don their golds

ankles of trees
cloaked in leaves

the storm could not veil all the sun's light

forest walks delight
wee fungi kin

but today
is another facet of autumn:

Autumn Sunset

Autumn Sunset

in the presence of light
we are purified

in the presence of color
we come present

in the presence of mountains majestic
rich spaciousness

in the presence of light
a luminosity that nourishes

in the presence of reflection
we soften with the satiny surface

with sunset
we breathe
in sync with life
