Blue and Clouds

Blue and clouds
they fill our souls
dance
the flight of birds
the golden sun
shines warmth
upon our wings
and we take flight
glory be
peace does fill
our souls
spilling over
with love
to be
to share
with all

Something in me wants to honor the beauty of today, the sky and poetry that rise with today's sun. Yet today I share images from October 2008 and a poem I wrote in 1979. In a sense I find the blue skied images a wonderful treat amongst all our gray days. If you want to see our gray day look at my last post.

The first image was taken on the East side of the Rocky Mountains. The next image is nearing home.

An hour after I published this post the sun rose, peaking through dark clouds lighting up my world. I have to share an image of the sky today:

  4. Wow, I think that your first shot with the cloud seemingly being held up by the trees is stunning, and your uplifting poem, which describes is beautifully is perfect... nice to revisit that stuff during times of gray...

  7. these are beautiful... I imagine those are Aspen trees...which when I lived out west someone told me that Aspens are the largest type of bush and are actually not trees...apparently they are all connected to one another making it a bush system. Crazy fact!

I've thoroughly enjoyed looking through all your shots - you have a compelling eye for composition and you, like me, are drawn to the beauty of Nature.

  18. Wonderful images. That cloud caught in the tree branches, and the snow on the red (?) fruits on the tree are my favorites. Looks like your blog is in bloom.

  21. I love these pictures. You live in a special place!

Thanks for visiting my blog - you mentioned that an 8 hour drive through the scenery of northern Laos would take you two days. I wish I could take that time; however, my staff know that if they allowed me to, I'd have them stop every five meters for another picture. So I ration the times for stopping by drinking lots of water. I can't get them to stop as often as I like, but they do know that we have to pause for comfort stops... with camera.
