I woke up
it was a frosty morning
and the first thing that i saw
was ice dressed in rainbows
my heart began to thaw
I thought I was heading to yoga
but smitten my path did change
kneeling to enjoy a sparkling ballet
morning light
and
golden grass
did reign

ReplyDeletecongrats on your late winter, it seems early here. I took these frost photos a week ago and now i have snow!
The word picture of elegant long grass clothed in rainbow clothing just fills my eyes and heart. This is just wonderful, my sweet Friend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, both in words and pictures. And you are wonderful too: enjoying the mornings magic in it's very moment and therefor giving credit to Mother Earth'miracles.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Anja
thank you Beth, maybe it will inspire you with your wonderful art!

I sang your poem to the tune of chelsea morning. :) Those pictures are beautiful...such nice bokeh lights in both of them.
ReplyDeleteI got almost the identical shot last weekend. To me, they look like fairy lights, so that is what I call them.

I heard the song immediately as I read your words...the light is so exquisite Tammie...I am the same with frost...it fills my heart with so much joy! Beautiful, beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteDear Tammie, I love the rhythm of your poem. Beautiful!! Your photographs catching the rainbow dots scattered about are lovely. I love 'my heart began to thaw.'
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful frost shots! There is something other-worldly about rainbows in the ice!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures and words! :) Frost is cold, but sooo beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThe opposition of the frosty grass and "my heart began to thaw" is an apt description of how Nature often works in our lives. The cadence of the poem fits the "sparkling ballet." I like the frosty glitter on the grasses, too.
ReplyDeleteI love a frosty morning, we are having one here! Finally...
ReplyDeletethis is so pretty Tammie, and the song what a great re-do of one of my fav songs of all time. Great post!
