Autumn and Winter begin to Mingle

appreciating the mushrooms
 as i studied them

clear night skies
inspire frost to grace life

sunlight is revealed as tiny sparkling orbs
when mixed with frost

colors dance before our eyes
good medicine

some trees
naked
the sunlight chooses them to present, show off and reflect

finding new treasures
Basidioradulum radula, Toothed Crust fungus
like an artful mandala

Plicaturopsis crispa, a Crimped gilled Polyporales
this is the underside, the top looks like
it was growing on dead wood:

Tiny Realm of Lichen and Fungi

they call us pixie cups
we are tiny
and live in the sylvan land

we grow in fanciful shapes

i have been enjoying the tiny realm of
fungi and lichen

they grow on trees
in wonderful colors

on rocks
even the black and gray speckles are lichen!

I look forward to getting to know them better

A Week in Montana

Rocky Mountains Magesty
sunshine beauty summery day

turns to clouds and rainy days

flowers thrive

mushrooms push through the earths crust

eye candy at every turn

jelly fungi nestled in moss

forest friends
wander in our days and nights

summer in Montana

Beauties of the Forest

beauties of the forest floor

mysterious gems that i adore

beckon to me to explore ever more

I find you cuddled in tiny moss

wet and shiny to the eyes and touch

colors that shimmer in gentle light

texture and caps that inspire delight
~
an autumn flower
dressed in raindrops
there are not many flowers around
with our cold nights and not as many sunny days

Mushrooms on Wood and under Rocks

taking form from the world as they grow

sprouting from driftwood

a heavy rock does not discourage

so pretty in she shadowy light

a family of wood dwelling creatures
when i find wood dwellers
it is usually on a dead tree

such busy busy squirrels
~
happy October to one and all!
