Cloudy January Day

the day was shades of
blue and gray

along the shore
found icy treasures

artful sculptures

a window to a red rock gem

air bubbles
held in the embrace of ice

just enough light
for reflection

  8. My, what a collection of beauty! The landscape, your rocks set caught in icy setting, the red rock with it's delicious setting of bubbly ice and all those reflected mammaries hanging down and the little ones below catching their nourishment. I love your winter.

  19. Beautiful in poetry and imagery, as always, Tammie! I love how you see and share the vastness of your landscapes and the minute details . . . there is stunning poetry in both. Your eye is poetry too. Are the ice and stone photos taken by your stream . . . near your home? and the majestic mountains? I am taken with the reflection and that thin veil of mist just above the water and the sky!

  20. hello dear Carol,

all these images were taken at Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. It is an hour drive from my cabin to there. So worth the drive. We went out to brunch at a place near there and then played on the lake shore.
There are many places with these colorful rocks. Creeks and rivers have them, but not everywhere.
