ReplyDeleteThose flowers are very pretty, but I've never seen them before. How interesting!
ReplyDeleteYour lovely perfumed flowers are 'Daphne', one of my very favourite shrubs, I have 4 different varieties of them. In Europe they grow wild as, it appears, they do in North America. Yours is obviously the wild variety. The berries are particularly toxic to children. The while plant is poisonous but the toxins are mainly in the berries and rind, although they are different toxins in either.
ReplyDeleteLove your fairy steps, every garden should have some. Happy Easter dear Tammie.
Arija, you did it. I believe you identified the plant. Thank you so much. I have never even heard of it. i have showed it to a number of people and no one has known, thank you so much. Yea. I agree, every garden should have fairy steps...... Please pick out a 5x7 for me to send you! xo

Daphne seems apt...a feminine name for a beautiful flower...
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing any blossoms yet. But the greening is visible everywhere the snow has melted. So the blooms are on their way!

ReplyDeleteWow, i love those steps! Such beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea about the name of the plant, but to read “Daphne”, I remembered winter daphne, in Japanese “jinchoge”, which is native to China, Korea, and Japan. Ours are pale pink and science name is Daphne odora Thunb. Your daphne flowers are so luminous. I like to espy the tiny arrival of spring, it’s easier when I see through a telescope lens. Our cherry blossoms are almost over and new leaves have emerged like your daphne in the last year's photo.
ReplyDeleteYoko
