Color
the world is dressed in color
and light
color and magical light
I wish I could photograph the scents of the forest for you:
thick, sweet, spirit altering
mix of
trees flowers earth
some plants are fruiting
some are just beginning to rise through the earth
I sat close to this owl at sunset the other night
until it spotted it's meal and dove into the grassy meadow
this scene is So Montana!

ReplyDeleteI Love Montana :-)! !
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty and wonderment in all your captures, from that first unusual plant, the gorgeous structure of the underside of that leaf and the unfurling fern, calming waters with lily pads and the very alert owl looking for its next meal. I can even hear the clip-clop of the horses' hooves as they pass by! Such lovely scenes to nourish my love of nature!
ReplyDelete...so Montana is right! I love those horses...and I love your poetic descriptions. You always know how to make us slow down and appreciate nature.

ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome chap the owl is! I love the unfurling fern, and so lovely to see the typical Montana scene.
ReplyDeleteEach plant looks luminous and looks like singing the praises of spring with all its vitality and beauty. I feel like that I can smell the mountain air, mixture of soil, greens, flowers’ scent, and the likes, by your words and images. The owl is so handsome. Thank you, Tammie, for this glimpse into one glorious day of Montana.

Beautiful series Tammie, I love all of your photos, especially the first flower, the tender ferns and the owl that sat and posed allowing your presence to be near.
ReplyDeleteColor and magical light, indeed. These gorgeous images suggest the scent and fragrance too. Such a beautiful wilderness!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors, light and shapes, special congratulations for the owl!!
ReplyDeleteKeep well Tammie :)
I love the unfurling fern - and the owl! I just finished Night of the Grizzles, an old (late 60's) book about Glacier and marauding Grizzlies. So good - I stayed up after Midnight to finish! Do you ever see Grizzlies in your territory or just Black Bears?
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. The colour and clarity is so good. I have been photographing my ferns but they are nowhere as clear as yours. The owl was magical
