Tolerance or To Be with What Is

Sunday Scribblings and One Single Impression are two writing prompts that are wonderful muses. I enjoy visiting the writers who participate and you might too. Today's prompts are: 'disconnected' and 'tolerance'. In this moment they seem to go together.

It has been said that the earth
can only briefly endure
life out of balance
disconnection
with her inhabitants
then she will shake and quake
burn and flood
Is this not the truth with all life

To walk
to breath
with lack of awareness
with a heart not present
will surely inspire
a life on fire with floods

Kneeling on the forest floor
mind stills
to listen
chicory chatting a wild tale
birds singing
day a soothing warm
breeze enlivening cool
world greener every day
flowers begin to bloom
as spring deepens

Simply
life comes into balance

Is she truly intolerant of our life out of balance
or is it her way to lay languid and purr
in the heat of the day
only to flood and quake the next

To be connected with the earth we walk upon
can be as simple as
relaxing
into her presence

  2. Beautifully written .. the first stanza is so very though provoking, it sweep me away --- another way of looking at why nature acts the way it does.

  3. I think it's a different branch, but now I see what those little nubbins pictured in an earlier post grow into. So exuberant!

  5. if folk in general could only learn to relax into the earth and treasure it, the world would have to be a better place - only when we all realize that we are meant to be connected one to the other and all of us to the earth and the universe will there be true peace and harmony, i think, for then we will be a group of caretakers with a common bond and no need to fight, but instead heal our world so it may flourish --- wonderful post!!!

  8. It does seem to me nature has her own way of bringing things round. But we compete with her all the time.

  10. I think the interruption of the poem with the image works very well-- a forced meditative pause.

I don’t know how she can be so tolerant.

  14. Beautiful words; For us to be in Balance with Nature, and Nature to be in Balance with Life... We must be connected to each other, connected with nature, connected with life.... Live in Harmony... All this expressed in the music of your words and the melody of your photos.... Thank you for your inspirations. You are truly a nurturing soul. Love and Light, Nina P.

  15. As always, I thank you all for your visit and comments!

I was torn about this piece as I appear to contradict myself and lean towards a disconcerting stance. The contradiction is merely that many perceptions are often in my awareness. The disconcerting is fine, though perhaps not an immediate spirithelper ;-)

Artsparker: you are so observant to remember my previous budding tamarack photo to compare to this one.

    Warmth,
    Tammie

  23. As another one of my favorite writers once said something like, "I am glad for the monks who pray and the poets who write." She might well have added, "and all those who attend to the beauty around them."
    Lovely.

  24. Hi Tammie, this is neat. When our Mother Earth gets out of her Maker's tolerance, then all H*ll breaks loose. Fire and brimstone?
