August in the Park

at the top of the mountains
flowers are still blooming

colors seem to be softening under the heat of summer's sun

greens
blues
and
clear waters
sooth the heat of the days

clouds dance along the peaks
as though they are the mountain's breath

daydream beautiful

Gorgeous Autumn

gorgeous autumn weather beckoned
come camp in me

trails enticed to be walked on

the colors were thrilling
literally

leaves illumined
offered sunlight
with gentle brilliance

paths as sacred trails
to take one deeply into the land

sweet clouds appeared around mountain tops
like breath

the sort of
weather
color
and
walk
one dreams of in autumn

~
I feel so thankful to have been there

Autumn is Dancing with Summer

watery eye candy

the spirit of autumn breathed on a summer leaf and look what happened

music to my ears and eyes

a couple weeks ago.... just a tinge of gold in the woodland

another glimpse of Many Glacier

a visitor at my pond

along a tiny brook
high mountain flowers

traveled over the mountains
a long dirt road
and
came upon a black bear

~
a bit of this
a bit of that
summer leans into autumn

Sunrise and Beyond

the sun began to light up the world

as the clouds shifted and danced in the sky

we walked a forested path
that brought us to this pristine vista

our day overflowed with immense beauty

with theater in the sky

Many Glacier, Montana

on a breeze
the high mountains
called to me

i felt it in my heart
and in my blood

after a long winter
wandering dirt roads, hiking trails and camping
is essential

the Eastern Rockies are wild and gorgeous
yet tenderness can be found:

photos are the trail to Iceberg Lake

are the Rockies now calling your name?

Aqua Waters, Glacial Expression

the journey began
with a two boat
two lake ride
with a hike in between lakes
that took me deeper into the mountains before i began my hike

climbed high above Grinnell Lake
the gorgeous glacial lake above
(actually there are three lakes in the photo)

up up up

past waterfalls:

to
Upper Grinnell Lake:

a lake with summer icebergs

found this gorgeous critter:

here are the icebergs
(sorry, I was shooting into the sun):

the rocks along the trail
were colorful
rich in movement and design made by glaciers

a hike that I certainly recommend

Late Summer Wander

your immense magnitude
radiates a
tangible presence - as does the suns rays of light

throughout time you have aged beautifully

the way the wind sings through your trees
and
blows clouds around and above thee

all these ways and more
bring me to my inner mountain
wind tree and beauty

you are simply who you are
a glorious mountain

cloaked in forest, flower, berry and creatures of your realm

bearing gifts freely

 ~

do you know what this alpine succulent type plant below is?
the flowers are about 1/4" across, lovely in it's silvery green
but i can not figure out what it is.
I found on the Grinnell Lake Trail :

The first person to let me know in the comments
can choose one of my greeting cards from my shop as a thank you gift

Summer Solstice 2013

Summer Solstice beauty thrills

walking forest paths so lush

never knowing who is far or near

tiny glimpses
charm my eyes

flowers one with butterflies

flowers and green cloak the earth

mother's hide their tiny fawns

blooms celebrate the sun's rays

a new season dawns
