early in the season
east of the Rockies
horses lounged amongst flowers

summer has shared a multitude of flowers
most of which have turned to fruit or seeds

summer has been filled with hot blue skied days

near a tree stump
towards the beginning of summer

bathing in sunlight
near the forest trees

Identification; Amelanchier alnifolia, Service Berry Flowers

wanting to ID the flower buds in the last post
I drove the hour
hiked the hike
felt mystified by what it could have been
you see, the spiraling red in the bud is not common
I suppose that is why it caught my eye
most the bushes were covered in white buds
but upon close inspection, some flowers had lovely red veins
the plant is known as Service Berry Flowers
in fact I have one growing outside my window
silly me
these bushes will be covered in edible berries come summer
yum

Thank you for attempting to help me figure it out!
I wish I had been able to give you more information to go on

Since you were all so lovely to consider what the bud might be
I would love for one of you to receive the offer of two greeting cards

I went to an online random generator and it chose: Evil Shannanigans
Yea!

Ask a Butterfly

Inhaling the fragrance of a flower
is to be touched by its spirit
for at least a moment
perhaps eternity
one becomes kindred
with the flower
there is no other possibility
simply ask a butterfly

Anticipate the Arrival

to be receptive
for a dawning of inspiration
is to open with tender anticipation
for the dearest of friends to arrive
knowing full well that they will

be open
for the friend could look
different than ever imagined
tis the nature of
divine inspiration

Farewell Beloved Spring

tis the last day of spring

and the birds sing and sing

No Worries

She dropped worry
like a coal on fire
with the realization
that her observation
might not truly be
an actuality
might not truly be
in sync
& reality
it might actually be
based on old
beliefs
or even fantasy
why not simply be
with
love

Water, a treasure

Our days are flavored with rain
light rain
rain as tiny balls of snow
and ice
rain that pours and pounds as sound
upon my metal roof
leaving behind tiny drops
as jewels to dress the new born greens
of spring

After experiencing the fire in Santa Barbara,
the presence of rain
is an obvious gift!

The first person to correctly tell me (I know) in their comment
what flower
the bud in the first and last image
will bloom into
can pick a greeting card from my etsy store, as a gift from me to you.

Unending Mystery

Be it a drop of melting snow on a lovely spring flower
or
an ice crystal that grew through the night
when we look at the details of life
the mystery is unending
